My experience with ClickBank affiliate marketing
The tactic I kept chasing was quite simple, at least at the first glance.
I pick a best-selling product, write a post about it, post a few Facebook posts and win – somewhere in Bahamas, possibly.
Right.
Instead, I’ve spent tens of hours posting and over $2k on ads. In the end of my campaigns, I had two sales, bringing me a bit over $800 in commissions. Something is clearly wrong with this math, right? It turned out I was only making Facebook richer.
And I knew it wasn’t a product, because I’ve seen the stats – people were selling it and it was clearly good.
So something else was the problem here, and I went on to find the real reason of my failure.
The real problem
Many intelligent people are striving to succeed with ClickBank affiliate marketing. It’s not a matter of lacking intelligence or being lazy; in fact, many are exerting themselves more than necessary. So, what causes them to hit roadblocks?
Here are the primary challenges I’ve identified and potential solutions:
1) Attempting to tackle everything simultaneously
At first glance, affiliate marketing in general, and ClickBank affiliate marketing included, seems straightforward, but constructing the entire system is complex. The offer, funnel, email follow-ups, tracking, and traffic must all function cohesively. Trying to assemble everything over a single weekend often results in a disorganized jumble.
2) Pursuing tactics instead of developing a long-term asset
Discovering a new traffic strategy can be thrilling, yet it cannot substitute the value of an asset that grows over time. Your key asset is your list and the ongoing engagement with it.
If you’re active online, you know that every day something new and “never before seen” comes out.
Smart marketers don’t follow every post like this. Smart marketers stick to what they’re doing.
3) Choosing offers without a strategic plan
Many select products to promote as if they are choosing a film to watch. They fail to consider the funnel, the approach, or how it contributes to a broader, long-term strategy.
In order to be successful with ClickBank affiliate marketing, you’ll have to stick to some simple rules.

4) Relying solely on motivation
Motivation can be fickle. Most people working on ClickBank affiliate marketing are deeply motivated, but motivation is in danger from failures. And failures you will encounter. Every successful marketer has failed miserably at some point. Then, they learned something else.
Dependable structure and routine are consistent and the right way do do your business.
5) Prematurely attributing issues to traffic
While traffic is crucial, it’s often not the initial problem. If your foundation is weak, increased clicks will simply highlight more clearly where your system is failing.
You can spend all you have on ads and never get a sale. Or, maybe, a sale or two, which is actually worse – this will be your base to believe your landing page and the product you’re promoting are perfectly ok, you just have to work harder on the traffic.
But if you don’t have a good foundation, there’s no amount of traffic you can get that will change the end result. You will lose money.
6) Lacking a consistent daily routine
People typically either neglect their tasks for days or try to accomplish too much at once.
Once you establish a manageable rhythm that you can maintain, even during hectic periods, you will quickly find yourself successful with ClickBank affiliate marketing. I
7) Constantly restarting
This is a painful but frequent issue.
First, you blae it on the poor traffic quality; then you give up, because obviously the product doesn’t sell. And your funnel never reaches the point of completion.
An half built funnel will never pay anything back. A completed one can be profitable quickly.
A word on choosing the best product to promote
One of the main steps everyone doing ClickBank affiliate marketing must do is choose the best product to promote.
There are many ways to do that, but upon starting most people just choose either something that looks good to them personally or simply promises the highest commissions. It may be a good choice, but it’s usually not.
